Ask ChatGPT or Perplexity for the best webhook testing tool and the answer names a few products and cites a few pages, and no rank tracker tells you whether yours was among them. Google Search Console now reports AI Overviews and AI Mode impressions in a report of their own, but it still breaks out no queries or clicks for them.
That gap is now a funded category. Profound raised a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation on September 15, 2026. We compared nine trackers on what their plans actually track, using each vendor's own pages on October 15 and 16, 2026: which AI engines, how many of your own prompts and how often. Coverage differs more than price. Ahrefs Brand Radar runs your prompts on seven engines including Claude, Otterly.AI's Standard plan checks four daily, Peec AI lets you pick three, and Semrush and HubSpot AEO each skip one of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
How an AI Visibility Tracker Works
Every tool here runs the same loop. It sends each prompt, a question buyers type, to each AI engine on a schedule, through the model's API or a scraping provider that captures the consumer app's answer. Then it parses each answer for brand mentions and cited URLs, and charts share of voice against named competitors.
The unit underneath every plan is one prompt on one engine, run once. Ahrefs calls it a check, Peec AI and HubSpot an answer, Scrunch a response and AthenaHQ a credit, though one Claude run costs 8 checks or 5 credits. Answers change between runs, so most tools run daily, which makes 100 prompts on three engines 9,000 answers a month.
What Bing and Google Already Show You for Free
Bing Webmaster Tools added an AI Performance report in public preview on February 10, 2026. It counts citations of your pages in Microsoft Copilot, Bing's AI summaries and select partner integrations and lists a sample of grounding queries, the key phrases the AI used to retrieve your content. Since June it adds Citation Share, your share of a query's citations, and an October beta lists queries where rivals are cited and you are not.

Google's Generative AI performance report in Search Console, rolled out to all sites by August 31, 2026, shows AI Overviews and AI Mode impressions by page, country, date and device, with no queries or clicks. OpenAI's publisher FAQ says ChatGPT adds utm_source=chatgpt.com to its links.
What Each Plan Tracks, Checked Against One Job
The worked example: a US developer-tools company that needs 100 of its own buyer prompts, such as "best webhook testing tool", checked daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. The script checks coverage first.
js// What each AI visibility plan tracks, and whether it covers one job. // Plan limits and prices from each vendor's own US pricing page, October 15-16, 2026. const JOB = { prompts: 100, engines: ["ChatGPT", "Perplexity", "AI Overviews"] } const answers = JOB.prompts * JOB.engines.length * 30 // 1 answer = 1 prompt x 1 engine x 1 run const plans = [ { tool: "Ahrefs Brand Radar", prompts: Infinity, daily: true, engines: ["ChatGPT", "Perplexity", "AI Overviews", "AI Mode", "Gemini", "Copilot", "Claude"], month: 100 + Math.max(0, answers - 7_000) * 0.015 }, // Growth: 7,000 checks, then $0.015 each { tool: "Otterly.AI", prompts: 100, daily: true, month: 189, // Standard engines: ["ChatGPT", "AI Overviews", "Perplexity", "Copilot"] }, { tool: "Elmo Cloud", prompts: 150, daily: true, month: 299, // Pro: any 4 engines, up to 4 runs a day engines: ["ChatGPT", "Perplexity", "AI Overviews", "AI Mode"] }, { tool: "Peec AI", prompts: 150, daily: true, month: 245 + 85, // Pro: pick 3 models, Perplexity add-on engines: ["ChatGPT", "AI Overviews", "AI Mode", "Perplexity"] }, { tool: "Profound", prompts: 100, daily: true, month: 99 + 399, agencyOnly: true, // brands: by quote engines: ["ChatGPT", "Perplexity", "AI Overviews"] }, { tool: "Scrunch", prompts: 125, daily: false, month: 250, // Core: every 72 hours after day 14 engines: ["ChatGPT", "Perplexity", "AI Overviews", "Copilot"] }, { tool: "AthenaHQ", prompts: 39, daily: true, month: 295, // Starter: 3,600 credits / (3 x 7 x 4.33 days) engines: ["ChatGPT", "Perplexity", "AI Overviews", "AI Mode", "Gemini", "Claude", "Copilot", "Grok", "DeepSeek", "Meta AI", "Mistral"] }, { tool: "Semrush One", prompts: 100, daily: true, month: 299, // Pro+: 100 prompts shared by all engines engines: ["ChatGPT", "AI Mode", "Gemini", "AI Overviews"] }, { tool: "HubSpot AEO", prompts: 25, daily: true, month: 50, engines: ["ChatGPT", "Gemini", "Perplexity"] }, ] console.log(`Job: ${JOB.prompts} prompts, daily, on ${JOB.engines.join(", ")} (${answers.toLocaleString("en-US")} answers a month)\n`) console.log("Tool".padEnd(20) + "Engines".padEnd(9) + "Prompts".padEnd(9) + "Covers the job?".padEnd(34) + "Month") for (const p of plans) { const gaps = JOB.engines.filter((e) => !p.engines.includes(e)).map((e) => `no ${e}`) if (p.prompts < JOB.prompts) gaps.push(`only ${p.prompts} prompts`) if (!p.daily) gaps.push("not daily") if (p.agencyOnly) gaps.push("agency plan only") const prompts = p.prompts === Infinity ? Real output:
textJob: 100 prompts, daily, on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews (9,000 answers a month) Tool Engines Prompts Covers the job? Month Ahrefs Brand Radar 7 metered yes $130.00 Otterly.AI 4 100 yes $189.00 Elmo Cloud 4 150 yes $299.00 Peec AI 4 150 yes $330.00 Profound 3 100 agency plan only $498.00 Scrunch 4 125 not daily $250.00 AthenaHQ 11 39 only 39 prompts $295.00 Semrush One 4 100 no Perplexity $299.00 HubSpot AEO 3 25 no AI Overviews, only 25 prompts $50.00
Four plans cover the whole job for a brand, Elmo's hosted Cloud Pro among them. Ahrefs costs least at this volume, though its $130 buys only the job's three engines, and Otterly.AI's flat $189 includes Copilot. Profound does only on its agency plan. For plans that fall short, Month is the plan's own price, and Semrush's 100 prompts are shared across its engines.
Otterly.AI: 100 Prompts on Four Engines, Checked Daily
Otterly.AI launched in October 2024 and told TechCrunch it would not seek outside funding.

What it does well: Standard runs 100 prompts daily on ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot with unlimited seats, GEO URL audits and Agent Analytics for AI crawler visits. The 7-day trial includes 50 prompts and needs no card.
What it does not do: Gemini and AI Mode cost $59 a month each on Standard, Claude $109. Extra prompts are $99 per 100, capped at 300 more.
Pricing: Lite $29 (15 prompts) · Standard $189 (100) · Premium $489 (400) · 15% off annual.
Ahrefs Brand Radar: Your Prompts on Seven Engines, Including Claude
Ahrefs Brand Radar sells an AI Visibility Index built on Ahrefs' own 481 million prompts, and custom prompts you write. It needs no paid Ahrefs plan.

What it does well: custom prompts run on AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude, daily, weekly or monthly per platform.
What it does not do: there is no trial. Claude uses 8 checks per update, and with pay-as-you-go off, tracking stops when checks run out. The Index is $199 a month per platform, $699 for all.
Pricing: Custom prompts Basic $50 (2,500 checks) · Growth $100 (7,000) · Scale $250 (25,000) · overage $0.010 to $0.020 per check.
Peec AI: Three Models Included, Perplexity Extra
Peec AI raised a $21 million Series A led by Singular on November 18, 2025. Every plan runs daily with unlimited users.

What it does well: you pick three models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, and Pro tracks 150 prompts. It also reads AI crawler traffic from CDN logs and ships an MCP server; the API is Enterprise only, per Peec's docs.
What it does not do: Perplexity is not on the pricing page's self-serve model list. It is an $85 add-on on Pro, $70 billed annually, which is how the job reaches $330. The trial's length is not published.
Pricing: Starter $95 (50 prompts) · Pro $245 (150) · Advanced $495 (350) · additional model $35 to $165 · 15% off annual.
Profound: Up to Nine Engines and AI Agents, via Sales
Profound is the best-funded startup here and has the narrowest self-serve offer.

What it does well: Enterprise tracks up to nine engines, including Claude, DeepSeek and Exa Search, with AI Marketer agents that research and write, plus Agent Analytics fed from CDN and hosting logs such as Cloudflare and Vercel.
What it does not do: brands buy paid plans only through sales, and the trial's 50 prompts are fixed. Agencies pay $99 for Agency Growth plus $399 per client workspace of 100 daily prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews.
Pricing: Brands: free 7-day trial, Enterprise custom · Agencies: $99 + $399 per client workspace.
Semrush: Prompt Tracking Inside the SEO Suite
Semrush, now "An Adobe Company", sells a standalone AI Visibility Toolkit and Semrush One, which bundles it with SEO.

What it does well: AI Overviews come through Position Tracking keywords on any plan, next to your SEO data.
What it does not do: prompt tracking runs on ChatGPT, AI Mode or Gemini, one engine per campaign, and each extra engine spends your prompt limit again. Semrush's blog said on October 12, 2026 that "Claude and Perplexity aren't currently supported." The pricing card's Perplexity data covers prompts Semrush writes, not yours.
Pricing: AI Visibility Base $99 per domain (25 prompts) · Semrush One Starter $199 (50) · Pro+ $299 (100) · +50 prompts $60.
Scrunch: 125 Prompts, Refreshed Every 72 Hours
Scrunch, acquired by Sitecore on June 3, 2026, runs every prompt on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and Copilot.

What it does well: site audits, AI bot reports and a 7-day trial. Enterprise adds AXP, an AI-optimized copy of your pages served to AI bots only, never Googlebot or Bingbot.
What it does not do: daily, by default. Scrunch collects daily for a new prompt's first 14 days, then defaults to every 72 hours, and Core's 5,000 monthly responses match that cadence. Core has no API.
Pricing: Core $250 per brand · Agency Core $500 · Enterprise custom · extra seats $25.
AthenaHQ: Eleven Models, Billed in Credits
AthenaHQ bills one credit per AI response, five for Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI or Mistral.

What it does well: Starter covers 11 models, the widest self-serve list here, with unlimited members and a content optimization agent.
What it does not do: its own calculator puts this job at 9,093 credits and recommends Enterprise, priced by sales. Starter's 3,600 credits cover about 39 prompts a day on three engines.
Pricing: Free ($25 of credit) · Starter $295 (3,600 credits) · Enterprise custom.
HubSpot AEO: 25 Prompts on Three Engines, No AI Overviews
HubSpot AEO launched on April 14, 2026 and needs no other HubSpot subscription.

What it does well: 25 daily prompts on ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with citation analysis and a prioritized fix list. The trial runs 28 days.
What it does not do: AI Overviews are not supported, and the price of more prompts is not published.
Pricing: $50 a month or $45 billed annually (25 prompts) · included in Marketing Hub Professional.
Elmo: The Open-Source Tracker You Host
Elmo is MIT licensed TypeScript on PostgreSQL, and shipped v0.5.2 on October 14, 2026 with 457 GitHub stars.

What it does well: the data stays yours. Elmo captures six consumer AI apps, ChatGPT and Perplexity among them, through scraping providers you pay, and adds Claude through the Anthropic API.
What it does not do: run for free. Its provider guide, whose provider links are Elmo affiliate links, estimates $0.15 to $2.25 per prompt per month for ChatGPT and AI Mode at about five runs a day, plus plan minimums, and you need a model API key.
License and version: MIT, v0.5.2 · Elmo Cloud Starter $29 (ChatGPT only) · Pro $299 (150 prompts, any 4 engines).

How to Choose Without Paying for the Wrong Engines
- Export Bing's grounding queries. Bing says they are generalized phrases its AI used to find pages, not full prompts, so rewrite them as buyer questions.
- Pick engines from your own traffic.
utm_source=chatgpt.comreferrals show what ChatGPT sends you; Search Console shows Google AI impressions, with AI Overviews and AI Mode combined. - Count answers, not prompts. Prompts times engines times runs is the workload.
- Trial with your own prompts. Otterly.AI, Scrunch and HubSpot take your list; Profound's does not.
Which One Should You Actually Use?
First tracker, small team: Otterly.AI Standard: four engines, 100 prompts, daily, one flat price.
Lowest bill for this job: Ahrefs Brand Radar custom prompts, metered per check, with Claude at 8 checks a run.
Buying through procurement: Profound Enterprise, for up to nine engines and AI agents. Peec AI Pro skips the sales call.
Already on HubSpot: HubSpot AEO, if AI Overviews matter less.
Data stays in-house: Elmo self-hosted, paying your scraper and a model API key, plus the free Bing and Search Console reports.
Conclusion
Every tool here asks AI engines your questions and counts the answers. Decide which engines and how many prompts you need, then compare the bill.
