About the WireGuard Config Generator

This tool builds a complete WireGuard VPN setup: the server's wg0.conf and a ready-to-import config for every laptop, phone or CI runner, with fresh key pairs for each. Keys are generated with the same X25519 math as wg genkey and wg pubkey, inside your browser, so no private key is uploaded or stored.

How do I generate a WireGuard key pair on the command line?

Run wg genkey | tee privatekey | wg pubkey > publickey on any machine with wireguard-tools installed. The private key is 32 random bytes with a few bits fixed (clamped) and base64 encoded; the public key is derived from it with Curve25519. This page does the same math in your browser. Peers authenticate only by public key, so every device should get its own key pair, and a lost laptop is revoked by deleting its [Peer] block from wg0.conf.
