Is it safe to paste a Terraform state file into a website?

This page parses the file with JSON.parse in your own browser tab and never uploads it, so nothing leaves your machine. That still matters because state files are not secret-free: Terraform stores database passwords, generated random_password results and API keys as plain values. This viewer masks every attribute listed in sensitive_attributes and every output flagged sensitive, but the raw text you paste into the input box is still the raw file. Treat any tfstate as a credential, keep it in an encrypted backend such as S3 with SSE-KMS, and never commit it to Git.
