How do you convert a SQL query to MongoDB?

Map each clause to its MongoDB counterpart. The FROM table becomes the collection, WHERE becomes the filter passed to find(), the SELECT list becomes a projection, and ORDER BY and LIMIT become sort() and limit(). Anything that reshapes rows, such as GROUP BY, aggregate functions, aliases or JOIN, needs an aggregation pipeline instead: $match for WHERE, $lookup for JOIN, $group for GROUP BY, then $sort and $limit. Watch NULL handling, because MongoDB treats a missing field as null.
