A multipart form data parser splits a raw HTTP request body into the individual parts a server would see. Why does the reported size differ for a binary upload?

Sizes are measured as UTF-8 bytes of the text you pasted. For text fields that is exact. A real binary upload cannot survive a copy and paste intact, because bytes above 0x7F get reinterpreted as characters, so treat the size of a binary part as indicative rather than byte-accurate. Field names, filenames and content types stay correct either way.

Request bodies stay in your browser

Parsing happens locally in JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded or logged, which matters because multipart bodies frequently carry session tokens and personal data.
