About HAR Sanitizer

A HAR sanitizer removes session cookies, auth headers, API keys, passwords and tokens from a HAR file before you send it to a support team or attach it to a ticket. A HAR records every request a page made, including the credentials that let someone reuse your logged-in session, so a raw one should never leave your machine.

Key Features

Redacts cookie values in Cookie and Set-Cookie headers and the cookies lists while keeping cookie names for debugging
Removes Authorization, X-API-Key, CSRF and session headers, and secret query parameters such as access_token, code and X-Amz-Signature from every URL
Redacts password, token and secret fields inside JSON and form request and response bodies
Strips the signature from every JWT so it cannot be replayed, while keeping the claims readable for debugging, or removes the whole token

Does Chrome sanitize HAR files?

Partly. Since Chrome 130, the default Export HAR (sanitized) in DevTools leaves out the Cookie, Set-Cookie and Authorization headers. Tokens in URLs, request bodies and responses still go into the file: an OAuth code in a callback URL, an access_token in a login response, an API key in a header with another name. Run the export through this sanitizer, then review anything under Check before sharing.
