NovelAI
AI creative writing and storytelling platform trained on literature with built-in anime-style image generation - 2M+ users, no free plan.
NovelAI is a subscription-based AI platform for creative writing, fiction, and interactive storytelling. Its language model is trained specifically on literary fiction, giving it a distinctively narrative voice compared to general-purpose LLMs. Writers can write alongside the AI in a continuous document, set a lorebook with character descriptions and world-building rules the AI respects, and use customizable AI modules trained on specific genres or styles. All higher subscription tiers include unlimited anime-style image generation via a bundled diffusion model. NovelAI operates with a strong privacy focus - all stories are end-to-end encrypted and no user content is used for model training.
Key Features
- Literary-trained language model - AI continues stories with narrative voice rather than generic text
